Prime Minister Boris Johnson brought the world’s leaders together to hold a G7 summit which addressed the major global issues we face today, uniting to build back better from the COVID-19 pandemic and support a fairer, greener, and more prosperous global future through a shared agenda for global action that sets the stage for years to come, including:
• ending the pandemic and preparing for the future by driving an intensified international effort to vaccinate the world and strengthening our defences against threats to global health;
• reinvigorating our economies by championing freer, fairer trade and a more resilient global economy;
• protecting our planet by supporting a green revolution that creates jobs and cuts emissions;
• strengthening our partnerships and embracing our values to build back better and to harness the power of democracy, freedom, equality, the rule of law, and respect for human rights.
As an academy we are participating in this cause by making our own 'global goals' as part of our Geography curriculum. The children will continue to do this throughout the year in their individual classes.
Here is a list of what each class will be focusing on:
Year 1- Recycling
Year 2- Equal Pay
Year 3- Life below water
Year 4- Deforestation
Year 5- Clean water and sanitation
Year 6- Plantation and life on land
