Oasis Academy Foundry Curriculum
Our ambitious curriculum is carefully designed to allow children's natural creativity and curiosity to flourish, alongside the strategic, purposeful acquisition of skills and depth of knowledge. Pupils are able to develop their knowledge, skills and abilities to apply what they know and are doing so with increasing fluency and autonomy. Expectations are that all pupils, including those with Special Educational Needs and who are disadvantaged, achieve highly and make rapid progress to become well-rounded, happy individuals, who are ready to succeed in an ever-changing world.
There is a high quality of teaching throughout the academy and we have a curriculum designed to help pupils remember long-term content and how to apply new knowledge in other subjects.
We have a large focus on language acquisition and vocabulary development due to a large percentage of our children having English as an Additional Language. We have a tailored phonics and reading pathway that helps children develop the skills needed to access the full curriculum. We use the Letters and Sounds framework to support our teaching.
We teach our children social and emotional skills which provide them with the tools to become active contributors to a diverse society. The pupils use and follow the 9 habits of compassion, patience, being humble, hopeful, joyful, considerate, forgiving and self-control.

Pupils make excellent progress from the pupil's starting points. The 2018/19 Key Stage 2 SATs data shows extremely positive progress scores with the school ranking in the top 10% nationally. Progress scores have been at or above national averages for 3 years. Mobility challenges and large numbers of pupils arriving with no schooling have an impact on our overall attainment figures.
Against all odds, our pupils love learning! The make rapid progress and gain sufficient knowledge and skills needed to succeed in secondary education.
At Oasis Academy Foundry we believe that we have an important role to play in equipping children with the skills they will need to have successful and rewarding futures.
