"I joined September 2014, after Mrs Johnson had taken over the reins in the January. To say the school was in need of change, support, love and guidance would be an understatement. The need for a complete transformation, brought about by positivity and optimism, was truly required.
At my interview, I could see this was the aim by all the senior leadership and therefore decided, (if I was accepted) this would be a real vocational choice and that I would be supporting a worthy cause. My initial thoughts have not changed over the years and I am very proud to be part of this brilliant school and all the children, staff and parents.
Obviously, it can be very difficult at times, some of the journeys our children and families have endured are harrowing. However, once they are settled within our community, they become happier, fulfilled individuals who hopefully all feel the love and respect they deserve.
I would like to believe that all our children achieve self confidence and a feeling of self-worth and respect whilst being at Oasis Academy Foundry, which never leaves them. Hopefully, as a school and community, we instil behaviours and values which stay with the children forever, supporting them as they become young adults.
In summary, working at Oasis Academy Foundry is like no other school. I will not pretend it is all flowers and rainbows, it is very hard work but with consistency, dedication, understanding, love and support, our ethos is working and our children are thriving. It is not just a school; it is a community, it is a place of safety, it is unique, it is challenging, but mostly, it is wonderful."
